WIC to hold Nishan Dialogue focusing on AI

Themed on  "The Age of AI: Building a Digital World of Exchanges, Mutual Learning and Inclusiveness", the World Internet Conference  Nishan Dialogue on Digital Civilization will be held in Nishan, Qufu, East China’s Shandong province, an important cultural and historical site in China and also the birthplace of the Chinese educator and philosopher Confucius, from June 25 to 27, 2023.

As an integral part of the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the release and presentation of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace has played an active role in promoting the development of a community with a shared future in cyberspace. The WIC is launching an open call for the 2023 Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace from government departments, international organizations, social groups, research institutes, think tanks, universities, technical communities, enterprises, and other entities. The deadline is midnight on June 21, 2023(Beijing time).

First 5G cross-network trial service launched in China

On May 17, China's big four telecom operators - China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Broadcasting Network - jointly announced the launch of the world's first 5G cross-network roaming trial commercial service in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The announcement was made at the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day conference held in Hefei, Southeast China’s Anhui Province.

Engineers at the University of Waterloo in Canada have discovered a new method of programming robots to help dementia patients find their medication, glasses, phones, and other items.

Smart glove enhances sense of touch in virtual reality

According to a report on the website of the British magazine New Scientist, American scientists have invented a smart glove that can send electrical signals to nerves in the wearer's palms, making it feel like the wearer is grasping objects in virtual reality.
